Elmbrook Strategic Partnership - James Place

March 2017 marks the 10th anniversary of James Place as a ministry.  God planted the seed of an idea - the answer to a prayer, really - in the mind of an Elmbrook elder to build relationships, respond to needs, and offer hope in the name of Jesus to those on the fringe of society in downtown Waukesha. From this humble beginning, God has caused this seed to grow to five James Place locations in Waukesha and Milwaukee, where over 100 team members have the privilege of “walking with” hundreds of individuals each and every week.

What does James Place do?

Each James Place location is a safe atmosphere where our focus is on listening to a person’s story, assessing their needs, and connecting them with people and resources. We strive to walk alongside people as they move from relief, to development, to independence. No matter the situation, we strive to have every person walk away with the knowledge of God’s love for them.

At James Place we may interact with students from the central city, refugees and immigrants from around the world, single mothers struggling to survive, people experiencing job loss, or individuals cut off from society. We walk with each individual and help them find resources such as health services, employment services, immigration services, academic support, behavioral health services, spiritual growth, prayer, encouragement, or friendship.
