High School Haiti Mission Trip

High School Haiti Mission Trip

Daily from 07/10/2019 to 07/17/2019

The Elmbrook High School ministry, in partnership with our missions partner, MISSION OF HOPE, will take a team of students to Haiti from July 10-17, 2019.

Cost per person: $1500 (support raising required)

Why are we sending a team of high school students to Haiti?

The high school team is partnering with Mission of Hope in Haiti to bring life transformation to every man, woman and child in Haiti. Mission of Hope is involved in providing meals, education, church advancement, orphan care, healthcare, relief and sustainability. They believe short-term teams help the Haitian church go further and faster.

What will our experience be like?

We will fly as a team to Haiti. While in Haiti the team will stay at the main Mission of Hope campus, a secure, gated facility with a medical clinic on-site in case of any emergencies. We will stay in dorm-style rooms with bunk beds that sleep about 16 people. There are bathrooms in each of the dorm rooms.

During our time in Haiti we will participate in a few tangible projects which will include at least one of the following: housing projects, water projects, educations projects, and church advancement projects.

We will also be involved in strategic village time: The team will go into the village a few times a week. Using basic hygiene training as an entry point to visit with different houses in the villages, teams gather important data about the physical and spiritual needs of the people. SVT allows us to build and maintain meaningful relationships with the Haitian people and equip the local church to meet the needs of their village.

I'm interested. How can I participate?

If you are interested in being part of this team, your first step is to fill out the team application (link below).

There will be another information session in January and applications are due on Feb. 20. You will be notified whether you are part of the team this year.

Once on the team, there will be six mandatory team meetings which will lay out the fundraising and help you prepare.
