The apostle Paul said, "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:28)
Why, then, does the church not reflect that reality? Why is it that men are told they can serve freely yet women are subjected to the sidelines? Why is it that Sunday morning is still the most racially segregated hour of the week? Why is it so easy to care about people inside our building and forget about the hurting people in our city and around the world?
Thankfully, God has a very different design where young and old, male and female, rich and poor, black and white, are all necessary to accomplish the mission of the church. It requires us to be ONE.
