Elmbrook Church Men's Ministry Men, We live in a crisis of gender identity.  We see young men unwilling to grow up, men addicted to porn at epidemic rates, and pew-sitters who need to step up to God's call.  It seems the model of manhood changes every ten years: James Bond and John Wayne in the 60's—the womanizer and tough guy Phil Donahue and Alan Alda in the 70's—the ultra-sensitive, soft male Michael Douglas in the 80's—the marketplace man Kevin Costner in the 90's—the Renaissance man In 2000—anything goes! This year Elmbrook Men's Ministry will stage a counter attack against the false notions of manhood.  Our desire is to help men understand what God has to say on this important subject.  Starting with the Promise Keepers conference in August, "Manhood: Let the Truth be Told," to our second year of "The Quest for Authentic Manhood," to the continuation of a movement to multiply small groups throughout the Milwaukee area, we will look to the Scriptures as our authority on what it means to be a man in today's world.
