God's mission to redeem the human race originates in the very heart of God. Jesus Christ came in the form of a helpless child and was the embodiment of God's mission of love and grace to a hurting and broken world. In word and deed, Jesus preached the good news of God’s Kingdom to a fallen world. Since the days of the early church, Jesus’ followers have been engaged in fulfilling God’s mission, Missio Dei: the privilege of proclaiming in word and deed the message of hope, redemption and salvation in Christ.
Mission @ Elmbrook
Mission at Elmbook Church means every Elmbrook member living out their faith in Jesus Christ at work, in their local community and the wider world while they grow in their understanding of the global dimensions of God’s Kingdom.
Mission at Elmbrook Church also means partnering with over 100 missionaries and ministry partners in local and global contexts to proclaim in word and deed Christ’s gospel of love and hope. From Milwaukee to Biloxi to Beni, Congo and beyond, Elmbrook engages in a variety of ministries among the poor, least-reached and under-equipped.
Stories of Mission
Nearly everywhere you turn there is an indication of the majority belief system—from markings on the face and head, to clothing and sometimes hairstyle, to countless buildings and edifices lining the streets and tucked into unexpected corners. When a person is living apart from Father it makes little difference what he or she fills in His place…it’s all a poor substitute without lasting value.
As if a foreign country, the gospel cannot be preached or the love of Jesus cannot be shared unless courageous believers dare to go there and preach it.”..."when we first started Angel Tree in our jail, was the enormity of numbers of children that are affected by having a parent incarcerated."
