Monday Night Seminar Descriptions
The vision for Harvestfest is to CELEBRATE our field workers and all that God is doing through them, EDUCATE our congregation on the current issues in global mission, and MOTIVATE the Elmbrook congregation to be on mission in their daily lives. Monday night, October 14, will accomplish all three. Join Elmbrook field workers for dinner in the Fellowship Hall at 5:15pm, then learn from their expertise by attending a seminar at 6:30pm on relevant topics in our daily lives. This night will help spur Elmbrook to be on mission each day.
God is at Work in Southeast Asia (Chapel): Did you know that there are around 7,000 unreached people groups on earth today? Many of these groups live in Southeast Asia, an area where it is difficult to bring the gospel. Elmbrook Church is committed to making disciples of all nations, even those where it is difficult. Elmbrook resources have been given to this area of the world to bring the good news of Jesus particularly to Muslims in this area. During this seminar, Harvestfest opening weekend speakers and field workers serving this area of the world will share about how God is working in the hearts and minds of the people of Southeast Asia.
Reaching the Next Generation | Field Workers Serving College & Youth (Fellowship Hall): Many field workers highlighted during Harvestfest 2024 serve with college students and youth around the US. Hear from Sean Kaiser (college students via InterVarsity), Roger Hamilton (Navigators/Eagle Lake Camps), Doug Lindberg (mobilizing through CMDA), and Phil and Kym Schank (youth in rural Mississippi) as they talk about the joys and challenges of making disciples of Jesus in the next generation. Learn how you can, in turn, use some of the strategies they find helpful to encourage kids and students in your sphere of influence to follow Jesus more closely.
