Adult Learning: BK
This class is taught by Shanthini Baskaran and meets in B222 at the Brookfield campus.
Each year God gives us the joyful season of Easter. Remembering and celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus is what Lent is about: to prepare to celebrate with mind and heart renewed as we recall the significant events that gave us new life in Christ. In this class, we will ponder what it means to "give up, take up, and lift up." Using several spiritual practices as taught in scripture, we deepen our relationship with Christ and discern where God is working in our lives. Lent offers an annual chance for spiritual housekeeping, a time to reflect on our faith in every aspect of our lives.
As the daughter of national missionaries in southern India, Shanthini Baskaran grew up with a deep love for God and world missions. Shanthini is a clinical psychologist by training. Combining a witty style and seasoned life experience, she is a counselor, international speaker and bible study writer. She loves to encourage others to ground their lives in Jesus Christ. Shanthini is a storyteller and her stories bring a fresh perspective to what discipleship looks like.
