The Elmbrook High School ministry is partnering with Mission of Hope to send a short-term mission team to Haiti this summer, with the goal of bringing life transformation to the people of Haiti.
What you need to know
What will our experience be like? We will fly as a team to Haiti on July 19. While in Haiti the team will stay at the main Mission of Hope campus, which is a secure, gated facility with a medical clinic on-site in case of emergencies. We will stay in dorm-style rooms with bunkbeds that sleep about 16 people. There are bathrooms in each of the dorm rooms.
During our time in
We will also be involved in "strategic village time" (SVT): The team will go into the village a few times a week. Using basic hygiene training as an entry point to visit with different houses in the villages, teams will gather important data about the physical and spiritual needs of the people. SVT allows us to build and maintain meaningful relationships with the Haitian people and equip the local church to meet the needs of their village.
How will we prepare? If you are interested in being part of this team your first step is to fill out the team application which will be available here and on the high school page shortly. There will be an information session in January and applications are due at the beginning of February, after which you will be notified whether you are part of the team.
Once accepted to the team there will be six mandatory team meetings which will lay out the fundraising requirements and help you prepare.
