Gina and Steve have served in South Sudan for the past five years, partnering with African pastors to launch Kingdom Builders School (KBS), a disciple-making school to equip both men and women who have been called to take the Good News of Jesus Christ to unreached people in South Sudan. KBS has also developed a demonstration farm to provide training in agriculture and animal husbandry for KBS students and the community. Gina and Steve’s plan for the coming year was to place oversight for this ministry in the hands of nationals
while they served at Rift Valley Academy where their two youngest children are completing high school. Regular visits to South Sudan to evaluate and give direction to KBS were also planned. Steve, however, suffered cardiac arrest while being cared for in Nairobi, Kenya, and stepped into the Lord’s presence on June 13, 2023. Gina will continue to follow through with their plan to serve the Lord at both Rift Valley Academy and to give direction to KBS as it continues to grow.
- Pray that God will continue to bring Kingdom Builder students and that the leaders will be faithful to equip and encourage the students.
- Pray for our family as we grieve the loss of Steve and yet continue forward with God’s plan for each of our lives. May He be our strength and grant us the peace that surpasses all understanding.
- Pray that Gina will develop deep relationships with students at RVA and encourage these young men and women to deepen their relationship with God.
