Cross-Centered Worship
We believe worship begins at the cross and is our response to the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe music is created by God and a vital component of our corporate worship as we express our thankfulness for His love for us.
What Is Elmbrook's Vision for Worship?
We are now hiring a Pastor of Worship Arts. Our history and goal for worship is based on Biblical teaching, prayer, and varied expressions. We desire that our culture and context reflects our multi-generational congregations and incorporates multiple musical styles and worship elements. The Pastor of Worship Arts will be responsible for the worship planning process and integrating varied creative elements (music, drama, dance, prayer, lighting, etc.). The goal is to deliver a holistic worship experience customized to the congregational context within a common message/sermon thread framework. Singing within a worship service is God-directed: our focus is God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit and less about our personal experience.
Because of the need to customize worship to the various physical campuses and digital streams, the Pastor of Worship Arts will identify and develop teams of vocalists, musicians, artists, engineers, and technicians responsible for leading worship experiences, special events, and outreaches. The worship team members' relationship with the Lord, along with their musical skillfulness, will lead Elmbrook congregations to experience God powerfully, both individually and collectively. We are looking for an individual who is an equipper of people first and a gifted musician second. Due to the complexities of our multi-site culture, the Pastor of Worship Arts might not have a weekly stage presence.
