Raising a child is one of the most meaningful responsibilities you will ever carry, and you were never meant to carry it alone. Parent Child Dedication is a chance to stand before your family, your friends, and your church and declare a simple, powerful commitment: to raise your child in a loving, Jesus-centered home. We would be honored to celebrate that moment with you and to walk alongside you in the years that follow.

This is the first of the faith milestones we mark together at Elmbrook, and it is a celebration that means a great deal to parents and to the whole church family. It is rooted in Scripture, where Hannah dedicates her son Samuel to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:24 to 2:10) and where Mary and Joseph present Jesus at the temple (Luke 2:21 to 25). Dedication is not about the child making a decision. It is about you, as parents, committing to point your child toward God from the very beginning.

For older children, teenagers, and adults who are ready to declare their own decision to follow Jesus, that step is baptism. At Elmbrook we practice believer's baptism, which celebrates a personal choice to follow Christ. Dedication is the beginning of the story. Baptism is the moment your child, one day, makes that story their own.
